Jordyn Woods was once best known as Kylie Jenner’s best friend but the stunning model is now a popular figure in her own right. The 20-year-old has become a prominent face on the plus-size modelling circuit after signing to Wilhelmina International’s Curve division and starring in campaigns for ASOS.

The Silhouette caught up with Woods at BeautyCon London 2017 on 2 December where she shared her thoughts on Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty collection and what makes her feel truly confident.

Some great products have emerged in the beauty industry this year. What’s been your favourite?

Right now it’s all about skin care for me. The weather’s changing so much and my skin gets so dry. It’s all about just trying out different skin care and figuring out what works for me, so serums and oils. Also, I just started wearing eyeliner a lot and now I really like it.

Looking back at when you first started wearing make-up, how has your beauty regime evolved?

It’s done a whole 360, it’s all trial and error. Like when I first started wearing foundation I didn’t realise you had to find your shade so I just got anything and it was like orange. Then my eyebrows, I didn’t know what I was doing or that you had to make the front lighter than the back but I figured it out through YouTube, through my friends who love make-up. I realised I’m going to have to do this for the rest of my life so you’ve got to learn.

How do you feel about diversity in the beauty industry and are you a fan of Fenty Beauty?

There’s still a long way to go. Yes, there’s 40 shades and that’s amazing, it’s awesome seeing that and I fully support Fenty Beauty. But I even had a hard time finding my shade in Fenty Beauty which I was surprised [about] because of the 40 shades. But people have so many different undertones and everyone is born differently.

I feel like we can always push the boundaries with diversity.

What beauty motto do you live by?

I do think beauty is skin deep so focus on your confidence and being happy in the place that you are and it’ll shine.
