Jhene Aiko has proved her love for boyfriend Big Sean by getting a tattoo of his face. And it’s actually a pretty accurate portrait of her rapper beau!
The Bed Peace singer headed to Downtown Los Angeles to get inked by tattoo artist Miryam Lumpini, also known as The Witchdoctor. Lumpini shared a close up Instagram photo of Aiko’s new tattoo, which is positioned on her left arm and features a portrait of Big Sean wearing a suit and bow tie.
A second Instagram photo shows Aiko, 29, laying on a table with Lumpini in the midst of inking the large tattoo.
It is believed the image is based on what Big Sean wore to Elton John’s AIDS foundation ball in 2016, which Aiko attended as the rapper’s date. The smitten couple have not addressed Aiko’s tattoo but have promoted their upcoming appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon tonight (10 October) through Instagram. The pair are expected to perform their new song, Moments, which appears on Aiko’s latest album Trip.
Aiko’s bold gesture comes just days after her divorce from ex-husband Dot Da Genius was finalised. In March 2016, the former lovers announced they had married secretly but split five months later in August after two years of marriage. Aiko filed for divorce in October 2016 citing irreconcilable differences and a judge has finally granted their separation.
The R&B singer began dating Big Sean in 2016 and the couple have been going strong ever since, also collaborating on music together.
In an interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club in February, Big Sean gushed over his girlfriend, saying: “People used to always be like, ‘What’s up with you and Jhené?’ There’s always been feelings for her, just to keep it honest. She’s a great person.”
Aiko was forced to deny cheating on Dot Da Genius with Big Sean, 29, telling the Breakfast Club in her own interview: “No, I did not … Don’t believe, you, of all people, should know.”
